My hot water is too hot in the cylinder. I took the top of the heater fitting but cannot identify the thermostat. Photo attached. Any advice appreciated. Terry.

you dont have one

best to get it replaced with a more safer one

As above you don't have one. This is extremely dangerous as the water is left to get too hot. A few years ago in my town a toddler died due to a fault with the immersion stat, it failed and continued to heat the water, which vented over and caused the header tank to get too hot and collapse. Boiler water came through the ceiling and killed the toddler in their sleep. Isolate and get a reputable plumber in to replace with a modern safe immersion

Many thanks for your advice, I'll get this replaced asap. I'm very lucky as I left the immersion on when I was away for a week last year. I noticed the upstairs was very warm when I arrived home , didn't mention it to the queen bee...

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
