Anyone know of a volt free frost stat? Need one for a ravenheat combi in a loft. the boiler only takes volt free controls. Can't find one on the internet!

As gasmarc says, or you can convert any 'stat to voltfree with the appropriate relay.

now I had this conversation with a mate who said it didnt matter if you used a 240v one as he said it was acting as a switch, I am not convinced myself because you would lose the anticipator ?

But do you need an anticipator on a frost stat? All it does is reduce the differential between on and off from three or four degrees to about 2 degrees.

Just checked, the Honeywell T4360A Frost stat does not have a neutral connection,so it should be OK.

The OP should also install an L641B pipe stat in series with the frost stat to prevent the water temperature rising too much.

ah sorry I was talking about a normal 240v room stat being used with 2 wires as opposed to 3 wires

If you use wire it as normal, but with a 240v primary coil relay you can then use it as volt-free even with a compensator.

But the best option is to get the correct one for the job :)

That only applies to thermostats with an anticipator which require 240V for it to work.

The Honeywell T4360A is a volt free thermostat without an anticipator and is the correct one for the job

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
