Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this pipe does. I had to change a washer in an inside tap, and I turned this outside tap off thinking it may be the main waterline. It wasn't. However, since I've turned it back on it is leaking from the tap. Any ideas as to what this pipe is there for?
Thanks in advance

It may be the main waterline shut off, but the washer has failed or you didn't turn it off enough.

Is there a remote garage or external utility room or is there an irrigation system in the garden?

Gland nut just needs a tighten.

Underneath the handle is a hex nut. Tighten that up a touch to stop the leak.
Cheers mate I'll give that a try

I suppose it could be the main waterline shut off, but there is a line with a meter attached that is actually the main waterline shut off. I know this because it when I turned it off the water to my and my neighbours apartment both shut off. I was thinking that perhaps it was the shut off to my individual flat.
It's possible that I didn't shut it off enough. No there's definitely no remote garages or utility rooms, and there's no irrigation system in the garden.

Hello all, I'm would like to extend an existing outside tap to another point in the garden. I'm about to pour a concrete patio and was hoping to run the water line underneath. There are existing drain (and who knows what) pipes running along the same wall so I'm nervous about digging too far...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
