shower
A shower is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm or hot water. Indoors, there is a drain in the floor. Most showers have temperature, spray pressure and adjustable showerhead nozzle. The simplest showers have a swivelling nozzle aiming down on the user, while more complex showers have a showerhead connected to a hose that has a mounting bracket. This allows the showerer to hold the showerhead by hand to spray the water at different parts of their body. A shower can be installed in a small shower stall or bathtub with a plastic shower curtain or door. Showering is common in Western culture due to the efficiency of using it compared with a bathtub. Its use in hygiene is, therefore, common practice.
Hi all. My hot supply for my shower is on the left and my cold feed is on the right. My understanding is that this is correct and this is also stated in the user manu.al.
However when I turn my mixer clockwise the water is turning cold when it should be hot. When I turn it anticlockwise the...

Is this new shower tray defective and would you install it in this condition? The void where the wax deposits were (last photo) is between 4m-6mm deep.
TIA.
Hello,
I fitted a Cooke and Lewis shower cubicle about 5-6 years ago. The weight of the glass shower door has put large impressions of the roller wheels in the plastic track the rollers run on. Got worse over the years and now it is quite difficult to open and close the shower door. I took some...
I've just replaced an Ultra SASF2 – M thermostatic shower cartridge together with the spring mechanism and the temperature sensor.
My problem is this: If I install the thermostatic cartridge together with the spring mechanism and the temp sensor (i.e. do the job properly), the shower runs warm...

For the guys doing a lot of bathroom work. What dual mixer showers would you recommend?
I don’t think the budget reaches to the Grohe stuff but also want something that’s not going to need new cartridges every 5 minutes.
Cheers
Hi folks
As mentioned in the title, are there any solutions to the problem, other than cutting an access to waste pipe and cutting pipe at nearest elbow or tee?
Hair has been removed as much as possible and a drain cleaner used but still very slow to drain.
I’m not keen on strong chemicals...
Hello All,
New to the forum so apologies if do any faux pas. But I have an Aqalisa Electric Quartz Shower 9.5kw (8 years old) and currently it is only giving out cold water regardless of where the temperature control is placed, the only difference is the more you move to the dial to the cold...

I have a Bristan recessed valve shower. It was installed 11 years ago - but hardly used as the handles are far too stiff. I have now had the cartridge replaced - but no improvement. I have been speaking to a plumber who suggested it may be as well to replace the shower [which I am prepared to...
Hi All - Apologies for what is probably a very sill question but I am trying to get a shower that attaches to my existing bath taps. I want one with an over head shower head and a hand held one but they all seem to come with thermostatic taps that involve drilling into the wall to plumb in. I...
Hi
Just moved into a house and in process of renewing sealant around the shower cubicle. Feel free to skip to the bottom to get the question!
There’s a gap (20mm in length & 3mm height) at the bottom of the frame (where it meets the shower tray) closest to the wall that appears to have been...
Hi,
I am putting in a Rain Shower and I am quite tall. 192 cms. My concern is the rain shower is not height enough.
I estimate the the distance between the top of the rain shower is going to be 12 cms and the top of my head.
Is that enough?
I want to get some guidance on what is the correct...
Hi Everyone,
I'm moving to a megaflow from a regular immersion heater set up. The house has several showers and at the moment they are fed by gravity feeds from the immersion (hot water) and a top floor tank (cold water). All the showers are powered by (pressure drop) pumps which are fed by...
Good Afternoon.
Just wondering if it would be fine to connect an electric shower to the balanced cold supply from an unvented cylinder.
Replacing an old Bath mixer tap with the shower hose built into it.

Hi,
Just looking for some advice as seen a few different things online. I'm installing a shower tray in our bathroom but this one has a square inlay to it first. Is this just a standard wet room square plate and then a normal shower trap underneath? I have seen some mcalpine ones but they are...
For about a year, my shower on a third floor is giving an on off gas smell sometimes after a shower and particularly in the morning not long after the sun rises enough to hit our roof.
I usually run some water into my p-trap and the smell goes away after a few minutes. There is a tub right...
