Hi,

I am recently moved to a house which has a year old glow worm ultracom 24cxi installed. The boiler has the inbuilt digital timer/programmer, but there is no room stat in the house. Just after some advice really, as I am not very experienced with this kind of stuff.

Would it be better to get a Honeywell Wireless Stat, or just get a room stat fitted? We are quite happy setting the timer for when we actually want the heating on, but as the house is very cold... we come in from work and its freezing!! I'm guessing with a room stat or a honeywell, we could set the minimum temperature for the house while were out so its quicker to warm up and isnt always so cold, but my concern is, if I get a room stat... will this override the inbuilt timer or can we still set the inbuilt timer to come on in the mornings etc? I have located the type of room stat this boiler needs and i have added the link below :_
Plumbclick - Heating/Boilers & Accessories/Boiler Flues and Accessories/Glow-Worm Boiler Flues & Accessories/GLOWWORM CLIMASTAT ROOM STAT 20035402

and this is the honeywell I saw :-

Honeywell CMT927 Wireless 7 Day Programmable Room Thermostat

My gut feeling is the climastat, but I would like your opinions on it as like I say, were quite happy setting the inbuilt programmer on the boiler. I know this is probably really basic stuff but please bear with me.
Your help is much appreciated,

Cheers.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
