water tank
A water tank is a container for storing water.
Water tanks are used to provide storage of water for use in many applications, drinking water, irrigation agriculture, fire suppression, agricultural farming, both for plants and livestock, chemical manufacturing, food preparation as well as many other uses. Water tank parameters include the general design of the tank, and choice of construction materials, linings. Various materials are used for making a water tank: plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene), fiberglass, concrete, stone, steel (welded or bolted, carbon, or stainless). Earthen pots, such as matki used in South Asia, can also be used for water storage. Water tanks are an efficient way to help developing countries to store clean water.
Hi,
We moved into a new property yesterday and are a little baffled by the heating/water tank situation. The previous owners unhelpfully left any kind of instructions/manual and therefore trying to figure out ourselves.
We have what looks like a boiler/water tank system (coming from a standard...
Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read.
I'm trying to work out if the idea I have is practical?
The water pressure in my newly renovated house (4 bathrooms is tragic).
Current set up is:
A hot/cold mixer in the main ensuite which is ok as long as you don't run anything else.
One electric...
First post as I can not figure this one out. I have a hot water boiler heating system, gas fired, with an HTP SuperStor indirect hot water tank. I'm on well water and have a water softener and two whole house filters for my water.
Three days ago I found my high pressure relief valve tripped...
Hi, We have a large Heatrea Sadia unvented hot water tank, not sure of the size in liters but its about 1600mm tall.
The tank is around 3 years old now and was amazing when it was first installed. Around a year ago we had a problem with water dripping from the overflow pipe outside and we ended...
So I bought my first flat recently (am in UK) and in a bit of a pickle as the bathroom has turned up lots of problems that weren't picked up by the survey. I have had loads of plumbers over, and have always carefully checked their reviews/tried to vet them as much as possible. However, I've had...
Hello,
I’m new to the business so apologies if this is a stupid question. I was tracing the cistern tank overflow pipe and found it eventually went to nowhere. Basically a disaster waiting to happen. The problem I have is that this is a flat on the 2nd floor with no visible external overflow...
Hi All
I hope you are doing well.
I have this water tank for hot water heated by a Baxi boiler or electrical heater.
What is the recommended temperature on it? I see Danfoss ATC written near the knob.
Is it what the end-user wants or there is a reason behind 50 or 60 Centigrade?
I think it was...
Hi,
I have a rayburn 212 that I have plumbed into a vented hot water tank as far as I am aware I do not have to vent the rayburn as the tank is vented, is this correct.
attached Is an image of the tank and a very basic schematic, fig 1 is how I have it plumed fig 2 is how I would plumb if the...
Hi everyone,
I have a query which I hope I can get advice on. I live on a top floor flat in a block of 6 the water is mains fed in the kitchen and bathroom but the attic has common water tanks which I believe feed the hot water and are cleaned annually.
My kitchen has a gas combi boiler...
I live in an apartment and have a cold water tank in it. The cold water tank feeds the cold water tap in the sink and the bath. Recently, I refurbished my bathroom and, according to the plumber that fitted the new taps, high-pressure taps were fitted. Consequently, the water that comes out of...
Hi, I am reinstating an indirect hot water tank and have 2 cold water feeds coming into it from the same supply. One of the feeds has a float valve but what ever was on the other has been removed. Why would there be 2 feeds to the top of the tank? Can I blank one off and just use the float valve...
I've just moved into a house with an old Potterton Profile P60e (75% efficient). The hot water tank is currently taking up the space in the bathroom that would be perfect for a shower enclosure.
So we have a choice,
1) Upgrade the boiler to a combi, rip out the tank and replace with shower...
Hi all - hoping someone knowledgeable can help as I'm super confused by this....
I have a standard system / gravity fed boiler, large cold tank in attic, hot water tank in airing cupboard etc. I recently found that the hot water coupling into my shower pump (salamander) had sheared (the...
Hi Morning, I am looking at a new boiler and hot water cylinder setup for a house I am refurbishing and am getting conflicting advice on my question: Can I use a Combi or System boiler to have a different flow temperature for the hot water tank heater and the radiators. I appreciate the hw...
Help! I’ve turned off the gate valve that supplies my toilet white goods. Now it won’t open. It’s turning but water not flowing through. I need to drain the cold tank to replace the gate valve but the cold tank goes to a pump and I when I turn off the water, no cold water comes through the taps...
A friend is building 5 en-suites above his pub. An advisor has said he needs a 64kW gas boiler to heat 7-8 radiators and an 800-1000 litre water tank to make sure guests have hot water when they need it. This seems way over the top to me - especially as it's not guaranteed that there will always...
Hey all!
Our water tank pump has been turning off and on by itself and not switching on when needed.
Upon investigation, there appears to be a small crack in the water pump metal housing that is leaking a tiny stream of water.
Would this cause the pump to keep malfunctioning?
If so, are...
