Moved into a new property around 4 years ago with full 15Kw Vaillant Arotherm ASHP setup, after quite a few initial teething problems seems to run well over last couple of years.

Long term just wondering if anyone can advise on servicing (in Berkshire area). Are there any independent specialist around or would you reccomend to continue with an annual manufacturer service (at a cost of £200 per service). Warranty is 5 Years. I'm concerned that any issues after warranty will be vary dependant on the manufacturer with any repairs being expensive. I would even consider a service with independent this year if it does not invalidate the warranty.

Stick with the Manufacturers service until warranty ends.
Then at least if something major happens outside warranty you may be able to get it fixed at a cheaper rate.
Or question why the problem was not picked up during the warranty period

As for many of these items, out of warranty repairs can be woefully expensive.

Unless the terms have changed, or you have an extended warranty for an Arotherm, after year 2, the only item covered is the compressor. Failure of which would be unusual.
