Hi Everyone

Does anyone know where I might get a service manual for a Permutit Series 8 model 8.32 water softener. I know they are very old water softeners but a client is having problems with it and it is making lots of noise. Or is there a service center uk number I could try.

Many thanks

Paul

1. Permutit went out of business many years ago.
2. I've got a copy of the Installation and Operating Instructions manual. It's not a service manual, but if you want it I could scan and email it to you this evening / tomorrow.
3. Mine has been installed for 37 years. It went wrong (some part of the regeneration system) about 10 years ago, and was fixed at reasonable cost by The Quality Water Company.

Many water softeners use the same valves a google image search should find a manufacturer with the same valve. This youtube might help a bit:

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
