Hi
Our 10 year old Alpha CB 24x boiler, which has worked fine so far !! started tripping off in October.
Following instructions, we reset, then called our original installers to service the boiler - explaining the issue...
After 4 visits by 3 engineers (long story...), whilst we had a service, none of the engineers could replicate the boiler tripping or could offer a diagnosis.
Gradually this has now worsened, to several times a day, often aggrevated by using hot water whilst heating is on or off....
The one engineer checked the over temperature switch with a meter but said it was ok and not prone to failure, even tho, the red flashing A light offers that diagnosis in the manual.
I don't want to tamper with anything on the gas side but feel confident to swap out switches / sensors or what ever on the pump / water side.
I have replaced the flow switch as they are cheap as chips and easy swap.
We have not changed our system in any way, although I am hoping to change our bathroom radiator to a towel rail, but want to sort this out first....
Any suggestions are appreciated.

This plumbing forum will not provide advice to anybody with regards to boiler repairs or any other form of gas plumbing without you first providing us with your Gas Safe Registration number in a thread - for very obvious reasons. If you're not qualified to touch gas, you should stay well clear of trying to!

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
